From John:
The Northumberland Plowing Match is being held on our farm this Saturday October 6th and this plowing match is celebrating the plowing match held on November 5, 1912 on our home farm. We have a picture of the ladies standing in front of the lunch tent from that day 100 years ago. That picture is in the book 'Hope and It's Port' published in 1992 by the East Durham Historical Society (now the Port Hope and District Historical Society).
The Bewdley Lions Club will have their new food trailer there, there will be a display of old farm equipment, 12 teams of horses will be plowing with walking plows, older tractors plowing with trail behind plows.
It will be held on the front field bounded by Hwy 28 and Dale Road. The corner field where Bletcher's Inn once stood (built in 1819). The plowing match starts at 9 am.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
