She hopes to work in an office in Port Hope.

SHIRLEY DELANEY In 1956 the basketball team lost a good player because Shirley sprained her ankle and was unable to play. She later made up for this by breaking a running broad jump record at the annual Field Day. In 1957 Shirley was also rep for the AA. When Shirley began to work at Easter 12C lost a good friend. She plans to marry in August. We wish her continued success.

FRED GIBSON Fred, as one-third of the male triumirrate of our special commercial class ranks with the most popular of his class. After school Fred worked in a shoe store and this is probably why his ambition is to become a shoe store manager. His hobbies fall in the most interesting category of tropical fish and parakeet breeding.

ANITA HORNER Anita played on the Junior Basketball team in grade nine. This year she is 12C's Student Council rep. Anita received a certificate for spelling 100 words correctly from NOMA. On weekends, Anita occupies her time by working as a waitress. As Anita likes Shorthand, she hopes to secure a secretarial position.

CAROLE INCH Carole came to Port Hope High School from Cobourg two years ago. Carole is very ambitious as she worked last summer and some week-ends at Turck's.

FRANK KUTROWSKI This fellow started high school in '55 and from there proceeded to 12C, Special Commercial. He has mastered the accordion and clarinet. Frank has a part-time job as a clerk in Maher's, selling shoes.

CHARLES MAIDMENT Charles can play the trombone quite well. He has been in many musical activities and enjoys music. Bookkeeping is one of Charlie's best subjects and will help him when he gets his first position.

BARBARA MARTIN Barbara is what we call a sports enthusiast. In grade nine she and her team won first in the junior basketball speed throw on field day. She has also played Intramural basketball. In 1959 she gave up her seven year skating career in favour of her studies. After graduation she plans to become a stenographer in Port Hope.

GWEN MERCER In grades nine and ten, Gwen was usually found in the gym practicing and playing for the Junior Basketball team. BEV REYNOLDS Bev works part-time at Strong's and helps keep the class well supplied with miscellaneous items from the store. She plans to obtain an office position in Port Hope.

We all hope she enjoys herself very much. Rosalee stood first in the class at both Christmas and Easter and with her pleasant personality how can we help but like her.

DONNA ROSE During grade ten, the Glee Club was very lucky in having Donna as a member. She spends her week-ends working part-time in a bakery. Recently Donna received a spelling certificate from NOMA for spelling 100 words correctly. In the near future she wishes to obtain a typing position in Peterborough.

Form News

12C started the year with a BANG by receiving 2 points on Field Day. A real disgrace so Miss O'Brien stated and hoped we would be better typists. We tried to overcome our poor start by working hard in the magazine campaign. We did quite well at this and with the help of Anita's coaching we received our school hats which added a very fashionable note to one of our typing classes.
A Christmas party consisting of Shorthand games and lunch was held one noon hour in 215. Lea, Frank, Gay, Yvonne and others were lucky winners of the Shorthand games. Lunch - perhaps the most important part of the party - was eaten with Barbara sitting at the head of the table. More games were played after lunch. Speed Tests are the order of the day for most of us. Lucky Zosia and Fred, who already have theirs, can sit back and relax.
Jean, the secretary-treasurer of the Blue 'n' White, keeps an eagle eye on all its financial transactions.
Marg, our AA Rep, who has so much trouble getting six players for a team, just doesn't understand where the girls disappear to at noon.
On February 1, Anne left us to work for the Bell Telephone Co as a Sales Representative.
Charles is our musician of whom we are all very proud.
During the year we have had two NOMA spelling tests. In the first test Anita, Gwen, and Rosalee spelled the 100 words correctly, and Gwen and Donna spelled them correctly in the second test.
Carol, our happy girl, seems to see the funny side of Mr McLean's English class.
Andrea, our only senior basketball player , is lucky to get out of class a few days for games.
Shirley is often seen walking to school so we all know she is keeping fit for the Tri-School Meet next spring.
CARD OF THANKS:
We all wish to thank Bev for her brave actions in getting us out at 3:30 the day we wrote our final Law Examination.
And last but not least our star in Shorthand - Muriel.
