Grade 13A

MARILYN AUSTIN
With a birthday on Guy Fawkes' day, what else could you expect of Marilyn than that she be an active, cheerful person? And of course, next year, as she enters nursing, she will keep these friendly traits. At school, Marilyn has been kept busy in room 119 in the capacity of chief librarian, and in her spare moments has participated in various music organizations.

PETER BERRY
During his five years at PHHS Peter has participated on both football and basketball teams as well as participating in intramural games. In addition to these, he has been an excellent student and majors this year in mathematics and sciences. In his Grade 12 year he won the Eldorado scholarship trip to the Arctic. He plans to enter Engineering Science at University of Toronto.

ROBERT BERRY
Robert has contributed muchly to the sport's world of Port Hope High School in basketball, football and field day. Robert is now working at the Eldorado and we all wish him success in the field he chooses.

BARBARA BLACK
Being athletically inclined, Barb has played on the school basketball team and been a member of the cheerleading squad. She is also active in intramural games. Her outside interests lie in water and snow skiing. Enjoying music, Barb has played with the school orchestra for four years. We all wish Barb the best of luck at Teachers* College next year.

JUDITH BLACK
So much spirit evolves from this tiny figure witnessed cheering our teams to victory! Also on the athletic side, Judy has played on class and school basketball teams. To round out her vivacious personality, cultural interests have led her to participate in the school orchestra. She will certainly retain her good marks as she enters into the study of chemistry next fall.

CATHRYN BRADSHAW
Take such things as generosity, practicality, helpfulness and joviality. Mix together and they add up to Cathy. Quiet and optimistic, her infectious laugh keeps us smiling. First Guides, now Sea Rangers; will the Waves be next? In any case, she plans to attend Peterborough Teachers' College next fall where we wish her the best of luck!

FRANK BRATHWAITE
Frank is one of our livelist politicians. (Needless to say, when Frank becomes Prime Minister, the Monarch will prevail!) Coming from UCC in grade eleven, he quickly made himself known in PHHS through his Cadets' work. Apart from his ability for History debates, he graduated from Vice, to President of our Students' Council last year. In all probability, Frank will return for post-grad work next year and then hail for Political Science.

Anita's other interests include volleyball, outdoor sports and skating. She hopes to join the Ice Follies or study PHE at Western. Everyone wishes Anita luck in her chosen career.

GARY CLARKE

GLEN CLARKE
Glen has added that certain spice to our class without which no class is complete. His frequent witticisms and adeptness with the English Language especially puns, have caused many moments of merriment. In extra curricular activities, Glen has participated in countless intramural matches. His plans for the future are as yet indefinite, but we in 13 are sure that Glen will succeed in whatever career he pursues, and we wish him the best of luck.

DAVID COTTRELL
An amateur actor, a pianist, an intramural team member, an A (13) student, a charter member of the grade 13 bridge club, an industrious class mate and a quick wit are only a few of the many ways to describe David. This quick wit and keen sense of humour have contributed much to school life this year. David plans to further his education at the University of Western Ontario in the General Arts program.

ROBERT COTTRELL
'Most likely to succeed, and have fun doing it' aptly sums up Rob's attributes and attitude. He's been an actor 'superbe' in French and English, an honours student throughout high school, Blue 'n' White editor '64. Extra-curricularly, Rob studies the finer arts, like tennis and skiing. Next summer, look for him and his Honda somewhere in the Alpine foothills, or maybe the Riviera. Until then, you can find Rob studying French and History at Western.

SUSAN CREIGHTON
Sue has always taken an active part in intramural games and was a member of the junior volleyball and basketball teams. 'Snooze', who has become the Ann Landers of Grade 13 with her advice and match-making skills, has chosen a teaching career. I feel certain that she will be as tolerant with her pupils as her teachers have been with her in the excuses she has used when coming in late from lunch.

CAROL DAVISON
Carol works hard in the pursuit of knowledge, but she also enjoys an active extra-curricular life. Last year she assisted on the Blue and White staff. This year she is 13 A's Students 'Council rep. Last summer Carol had the opportunity to participate in the inter-provincial student exchange and found her visit very helpful. We wish Carol every success at university.

JUDY DENT
Canada's present language problem is destined to last only five more years. Judy claims she will solve it. She is going to start with 'les garcons francais' and teach ... French? (Combined with music and Dramatics of course). Four plays (one in la meilleure langue) and various musical activities, namely singing, fill her schedule except for those few moments when ... Bonne chance Jud!

JOHN DERKX
I suppose everybody knows John is one of the top athletes in PHHS. To begin with he was on the Senior Football team in the fall and when the snow set in and the football field was covered he started wrestling and at COSSA he won first and obtained a trophy for it. 'He will be missed by everyone, and we wish him the best in whatever he has chosen for his career.'

ALAN J DOUGLAS
Alan is one of our clan who is often seen far more than he is heard. A diligent and persistent worker, Alan is always ready to lend a helping hand to a fellow student. He has participated in some of 13A's more infamous volleyball games and has offered his services to the Science and Math Clubs respectively. We are confident that Alan will emerge successful in whatever career he pursues.

RAY DUBEAU
Ray joined us at PHHS in grade 11. Since then he has participated in intramural sports, Students' Council and Math Club. This year, being his second in cadets, he is Cadet Captain in the school corps, after gaining much of his training in Militia. Ray plans to study Engineering Technology at Ryerson. We wish him the best of luck.

NANCY FOWLER
The Students Council, Blue 'n' White and The Dramatic Society have all rated Nancy's support in the past five years. She is undecided about next year but don't worry - Nancy will find something to do - work, go to Teachers College, go to University of Toronto or maybe even get married.

THOMAS J FOWLER
Intelligent, talkative, lively, talkative, assertive, talkative, effervescent, talkative - these adjectives aptly describe Thom Fowler. Last year's Vice-President of the Dramatic Society, Circulation Manager of the Blue 'n' White and this year's President of the French Club, Thom shows excellent leadership qualities. He has a wide range of interests, one of which is acting. A future Latin teacher, Thom will study at Queen's.

MARY GLADWIN
Stage manager, painter, librarian, basketball guard, actress ... so runs Mary's list of accomplishments during high school. She has participated on the Students' Council, French Club, Blue 'n' White staff, Sketch Club, Dramatic Society and this year was elected to the GAA executive. Playing her favourite sport, basketball, Mary has been a guard on the COSSA-winning team. Next year, her artistic talents are to be put to use at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto.

SHARON GODWIN
Throughout Sharon's stay at PHHS, she has participated actively in intramural sports. She has also hi-lighted the Glee Club. Sharon hopes to go to Sick Children's Hospital next year where her bedside charm, good humour (which she has displayed in her high school days) and Chemistry (Sharon's a whiz at that) will be sure to give her happy patients. We wish you all the luck in the world to make your nursing career a success.

BARBARA GOHEEN
Modern psychology states that a successful teacher must concentrate on treating all with equal attention. In spite of her failure to conform to this standard (tsk, tsk) our Barb plans to devote her hard work and capabilities to this profession. She is an understanding, fun-loving pal who deserves and has our best wishes.

DENISE GREEN
Denise, better known as defender of French Canadians, has added great spice to History classes, through great feeling attained in an Inter-Provincial visit. Denise was President of the Students' Council and has been an active member of French Club. This year she is Vice-President. She has participated in intramural basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, ski club and dramatics. She also represented the Girl's AA in Grade 9. Denise plans to study modern languages at University of Toronto.

MARIE HOSKIN
Marie Hoskin, has added life and zest to the school in past years. Her school years have been filled with achievement; the posture queen, the ski club, dramatic society and cheerleading. Marie is very interested in improving her artistic talent, and hopes to attend the College of Art; and I am sure that Marie>s future will be filled with success.

DOUG REID
Doug has been a member of Port Hope High School since grade 9. Although he has left us for other opportunities in Oshawa at General Motors, he hopes to get back into the study groove at Ryerson in 1965-66.
