Girls Field Day Champions

This year's field day was a grand success for Port Hope High School's girls.
All in all seven records were broken.
Our Senior Champion, Sharon Thorndyke, broke two records while last year's champ, Anita Churchly, set a new record in the triple jump.
This year's intermediate champion, Valerie Thompson, broke three records and our junior champion is Nancy Devine.
Credit must also be given to Linda Burgess for setting a new record in the junior triple jump.



Boys Field Day Champions

This year, the winners, Bob Trew, Tom Hodgson and Ralph Hodgson were repeats of last year.
Each took home the trophy in his division senior, intermediate and junior respectively.
At the Kawartha District Meet, the Port Hope team faired well.
Fred Hamelink broke the intermediate 880 yard record while Keith Boundy went on to win his event, the discuss, in fine style.
Keith also won at COSSA, breaking the existing record by 10 feet, and went on to OFSSA.
