Thanks for the information. What idiots the mayor and town council were. Smug, stupid, with no love of history, like so many Canadian small town leaders of the time. Ontario is cursed with their legacy of squat boxes replacing gorgeous post office buildings of a grander era. Port Hope’s was one of the best. The seniors’ housing that replaced it is a piece of junk. Gee thanks, Mayor Mike!
