My great grandfather was Charles Melvil Walton – Lived at Roddick Homestead, porthope. Married Eva Margaret Johnson (Walton). I would like to go back further to see if I am related to all the Walton Stuff in PortHope, Ontario. I know my greatgramma death date is Oct.22, l946. The Ludlow family formerly of Co.Cavan, Ireland, were residents of Hope township from 1835 to 1840 when they moved to Hamilton Township. Are there any newspapers that cover this period?
Any info about John Preston + Ann Reed, from Ireland who had their first son in Port Hope 1835.
My great great grandfather Richard Marshall b-1831 is on the 1871 and 1881 census records for Port Hope with his wife Eva Marshall and 7 kids. Is there any other information on this family. He is listed as a bricklayer and mason.
