In checking the 1901 census I noticed an error in spelling of a last name (must have been in the transcription process). It is in B2 page 7, individuals #43, 44,and 45. The surname is Turck not Turk. These three individuals would be the grandparents and father of Ray Turck (deceased) and Mary Margaret Turck (Mack) of Port Hope. Thanks.
Thanks Brian
The corrections have been made.
Most of the Sleeman clan is not spelled correctly, should be Sleeman not Sleemon. These names are located on B1 Pages 8 & 10.
Regards Jack Williams.
Thanks Jack.
The corrections have been made.
Hi Mark: Was checking for grandparents and found that an s had been added to surname HYNE, likely because someone remembered Hyne’s Pharmacy of the 30’s to 60’s and decided the ‘ should be removed and s added. The names of John and Laura Hyne are at B2Pg10.
My dad wasn’t born until 1905 and his name is wrong in the records I have traced . It was Edward Bruce Hyne March 21, 1908 but so far I have not been able to get anyone to make correction.
Thanks Gwen.
In reviewing a few items that interested me, I reread my information about my father and find that I have entered the wrong year of birth. Should be 1905, my mother was born in 1908.
Sainsbury is the correct spelling. You have it spelled Sainsburry.
‘Douglass’ E4 pg1 should be spelled ‘Douglas’ without the 2nd ‘S’. A number of descendants are still in the area.
nice job on this page!
could you kindly check your records and see is a Samuel and Emma McLelland resided in Port Hope from 1898-1901?
