Lew Watson moved from Toronto to Port Hope in March 1951. In 1953 he and Ed Green opened 'Watson & Green' on Ontario Street. They sold home and auto appliances, with emphasis on Firestone tires (phone 885-5500). This store once stood where Irving Margles' Selgram building (LCBO) parking lot is now.
They later had a Fina gas station on Mill Street beside what is now Captain George's fish & chip shop, and a taxi service.
