Albert College
Albert College is a co-educational independent boarding school in Belleville, Ontario.
It is the oldest co-ed boarding school in Canada,
founded in 1857 by the Methodist Episcopal Church as the Belleville Seminary.
In 1866 it received its university charter and was renamed
Albert University in honour of Prince Albert.
In 1884 the school stopped offering university credits and became a high school.
It currently has an enrollment of approximately 300 students representing 24 different countries.
There have been over 4,000 alumni of
the school, representing 43 different countries.
The school is comprised of a Junior School (junior kindergarten to grade 6) and a Senior
School (grades 7 to 12 and post-diploma) as well as three residences for boarding students.
