The last names, and a few initials were written on the back of this photo. I've added the first names of the people I've found who seem most likely to have been in this group. Additions or corrections would be welcomed.

LT. COL. J.A.V. FRASER COMMANDS 2nd MIDLANDS
Of interest to local officers and men of the 2nd Midland Battalion is recent official word that Lt. Col. J.A.V. Fraser of Penryn Park, Port Hope, has been appointed Commanding Officer. For years well known in military circles of the district the new commander was raised from the rank of Major to accommodate his new appointment.
Lt. Col. Fraser has devoted almost a lifetime to military affairs in the Canadian Army. He served with high distinction throughout the first world war and has been engaged on military work in the present war. He assumes his new duties at once under authority of Military Headquarters, Ottawa. Since the retirement some time ago of Col. A.H. Bounsall, who commanded the 2nd Midlands as a reserve unit for the past 6 years, Lt. Col. Fraser has been acting commander.

Norman Burr Gould, back row centre, sent this picture from somewhere in Italy to his wife Helen, known by everyone as 'Toad.'
On the back he wrote, "My first tank & my first crew. The name 'Toadie' is hidden by my driver on the right. Best bunch I ever had — they are all in Belgium now." (1945)
