'An Average Morning'

8:55   There are few people in the halls, but along the right and left side, between 103 (our home room) and the office there is not a sound.

8:58   There is a slamming of lockers and a rustling of books but don't worry 9C is known for cutting it close.

9:00   The door has been closed , and it's quiet in the hall, but in the room there's no peace at all.

9:02   Mr Henry threatens to crack Bob Begg's and Wayne's heads together, while over the PA comes comments on the weather.

9:05   Out of the door rushes Bob K (and boots) leading the eager pack to their next class.

9:07   All the books are open except Peter's and Norman' s who forgot all about 'that' exercise, which they were to do for homework.

9:37   All books are packed and everyone is ready to leave, especially Sandra and Joan who are in a hurry to get to French (brains).

10:13   French is over and next comes our home room and BP. Although Peggy keeps our accounts balanced, we still feel a debit because of the loss of Mary Ann, Edna, John S and John B.

10:48   BP is over and now down to the cafeteria run John M and Hugh, with their hands in their pockets fumbling for their money.

10:53   In Social Studies, while Barry and Phil are talking, Mr Walker is trying to interrupt with a request that they do an essay for the next day.

11:40   Cathie and Stewart are trying to figure out some way to move closer to-gether to do their homework, (of course), but distance, teacher, and time will not permit it.

11:59   Roy and John W start tip- toeing out of the room 19 1/4 seconds before the bell, but are dragged back in the room and kept until everyone has left.

12:00   All is quiet on the western front except for the continual clanking of jaws.
