Girls Athletic Association

This year as in the past number of years an endeavour was made to build up our athletic point system. This system allows everyone, not necessarily an outstanding athlete, to receive the athletic award after obtaining the required number of points during the period of her five years at high school. This year a number of girls were very close to receiving this award but Bonnie Sadler was the highest and received her letters at our annual Athletic Night. Also gold bars are given to the girls who have already received their letters and have gone on to gain more points the following year. This year these bars went to Cheryl Osland and Peggy Keyes.
Also, this year the Girls Athletic Association undertook the selling of Blue and White toques and scarfs. Unfortunately these toques and scarfs arrived after the first snowfall but just before the holidays when funds were low, therefore sales weren't as hoped for. However, we are looking forward to a promising year with them next year.
At our annual Christmas Dance this year, 'La Neige de Noel', Sandy Sirtonski was crowned posture queen, Janis Weaver and Nancy Lester were runners-up.
This year we are very proud to say that we have TWO COSSA champions, the Senior Girls Volleyball and the Senior Girls Basketball teams. Both Junior teams did extremely well.

Last, but very important, a special thank you to Mrs Bigelow for her help and enthusiasm in our entire sports curriculum.
